I have no problem hearing myself.  I can be in a noisy crowd or the quietest room and I still hear my thoughts and desires.  Hearing God is much harder.

But to be honest I haven't worked nearly as hard at that.  I practice hearing myself everyday, all day long.  I practice hearing God occasionally.

Dancing in step with God study has been good for me because at the end of everyday it asks me to listen.  It ask me to write down one verse or sentence which was the most meaningful today.  Today it is simply the realization that I don't spend much time  learning to know His voice.  I don't think this means reading more each day, but reading better.  Reading to listen, reading to surrender.  I want to hear my shepherd better.
