The staff are servants of the church who work to facilitate the ministry of the members. Our objective is to help every member serve better.
Pete Luedemann, Lead Pastor
I have been a pastor since 1998 and at Beautiful Savior since 2002. I serve the congregation by working with the congregation to provide vision and the leadership to back it up. It is also my responsibility to design the three worship services each week and share the message. I encourage and empower the church staff as their supervisor and I provide short-term solution-based counseling for kids through senior adults, couples, and families.
My wife and I enjoy raising our four daughters ranging from a college student to those in elementary school. We do a lot together as a family including hiking and trips to National Parks. I coach my daughters in soccer and serve on the North Clackamas School District Budget Committee. I love working with plants, soccer, hiking, and mountain climbing.
Bill Fischer, Pastor of Community Ministries
I grew up on the East Coast, living in New Jersey and New York. As a teenager I had an encounter with Jesus Christ that changed the direction of my life. Overnight, I felt a call to the pastoral ministry with a strong passion for outreach and spiritual development. After attending a Christian College I served with Campus Life Youth for Christ in New Jersey and Maryland. In the early 70s, I became involved in what was known as the "Jesus Movement." I graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri in 1978 and have served as a missionary in Sri Lanka and churches in New York City, the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Pittsburgh, PA before coming to Beautiful Savior. I have been married to Anne for 32 years and have three adult children.
I serve as the Pastor of Community Ministry at Beautiful Savior with a focus of helping the congregation to connect to our community and world through Social Ministries as well evangelical outreaches. My position exists to fulfill the congregational goal of using 50 percent of our resources for ministry outside our church family.
Clark Leighton, Director of Family Ministries
Family is a big part of who we are at BSLC. My job is to help support individuals and the family as a unit. I am directly or indirectly involved with Pre-school, Children, Youth, Men, Women, & Senior's Ministry. I try to help create bridges between each of the ministries and make sure individual ministries don't inadvertently overlook the big picture.
Personally I have been involved with BSLC for over 30 years. I have been on staff since 1995. Claire and I were married in '94 and we have three boys ranging in ages from 11 to 4. It is amazing how three kids from the same family can be so different, yet so much alike. As a family we like to do "boy" stuff, camping, biking, and building things. We also like getting together with our friends and family.
Annaliesa Tomac, Director of Discipleship
God has given me a life of adventure and love for learning. I find that He has little adventures and discoveries for me around just about every corner, that come in forms I can rarely predict. I love to create, via writing, painting, drawing, or any old thing that looks like it might be moldable. I also love to play, whether it be various sports (tennis, basketball, soccer, LaCrosse, dodgeball, football) a game of scrabble in a coffee shop, lipsyncing to Cyndi Lauper, or running around with five year olds. Finally, I love delving into conversations with others and conversations with God where I can learn to think in ways I've never thought before and experience the exhilaration of seeing things happen that I never could have planned or imagined.
I have seen God use the venue of relationships and small groups to change the unchangeable in people (myself included) and bring a freedom they thought they could never have. When I first began to see God moving in that way, it blew me away and I knew I wanted to be a part of it. Somewhere in the midst of that pursuit, I started attending seminary at George Fox University to obtain my Master of Spiritual Formation and soon after became the Director of Discipleship at Beautiful Savior. My main function here is creating spaces where people can grow closer to God through relationships with others. I direct small groups, Wednesday and Sunday adult classes, fellowship opportunities, and the young adult's group, called Gap.
Trish Rondema, Director of Children's Ministry
My husband and I have been members of BSLC since 1978 but were away from BSLC doing overseas mission work in Nigeria and China from 1988 to 2007. I joined the staff here at BSLC in 2007 and am serving as Director of Children’s Ministries. The responsibilities cover birth through 8th grade. It is my hope that I can recruit, support and encourage parents and volunteers in the raising up our children in the way they should go, trusting that when they are old they will not depart from it.
Our children’s ministry is striving to focus on worship, Bible study, fellowship, service and outreach. Sunday and Wednesday programs offer times to build relationships, especially those with the Lord and with the body, as well as times for the other goals.
My husband and I are enjoying spending time with our three adult children and spouses, and grandchildren as they arrive in our midst. John serves as an Elder and Trish adds service on the Stephen Ministry leadership team to our life with BSLC. Other time is spent with reading, enjoying sports on TV and fellowship with people in our church and our neighborhood. We also enjoy making calls on folks who need a listening ear and a willing heart to share words of comfort and encouragement.
We plan periodic trips to China and other areas as God leads to continue to encourage, support and share with people in cross-cultural ways.
Tracy Rains, Office Manager
I have been the office manager at Beautiful Savior since 2004. I joined the BSLC team after a 14 year break to raise my family. I have three boys and one girl ranging from teens to elementary school. My husband and I met in Frankfurt, Germany, were married in Denmark, and enjoyed 7 years traveling together in Europe before returning to the Northwest via California and Arizona. As a family, we enjoy camping, skiing, hiking and playing soccer. My favorite personal time activity is a long run on one of Oregon's beautiful nature trails.
As office manager, I have the privilege of supporting the ministry staff and congregation by managing internet technology, human resource functions, facility use, and providing support staff supervision. The best part of my job is the people.
Chris Miller, Membership Secretary
Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church has been my home for 28 years. My husband, Doug, and I have been so blessed by all our church family. We have 2 children, Heather & Stephen and 2 grandchildren, Natalie & Tatiana, who also call the people at Beautiful Savior their family. After home schooling for a time and working elsewhere a few years, the Lord has brought me here to serve officially.
As Membership Secretary, my role is first and foremost to be available for YOU. Whether by phone or if you come to the office, it is my pleasure to assist you however possible. Keeping your personal information current in the computer is one of my main goals. It is my voice you will probably hear if you call. I order the office supplies, keep money coordinated and apportioned to the right people, and help in special projects.
Elaine Sorenson, Publications Secretary
I have been Publication Secretary at Beautiful Savior since July 2007. I joined the staff after my retirement from North Calackamas School District. My primary responsibilites are to produce the worship bulletins, bi monthly newsletter and other publications that come my way. I hope to be available to assist with all publication requests.
My husband Bruce and I have 2 grown children and 5 grandchildren. I enjoy spending time with my immediate and extended family. I especially love playing with my grandchildren, but also enjoy traveling, hiking, cooking, gardening and reading.
